Convergence Curriculum for Geospatial Data Science
Learn more! Free webinar on Tuesday (Feb 7 2023)
Wow. It has been a while and a whirlwind. RSV, flu, stomach bugs, coughs, sore throats. You name it, and we had them all for weeks and months. But we are finally healthy, so I am back. With exciting news!
On Tuesday Feb 7 at noon CST I will be hosting a free webinar.
What are we talking about? A new curriculum for geospatial data science!
We call it the “Convergence Curriculum for Geospatial Data Science”
We will be sharing version 1.0 of the curriculum (see the image above or click the link here), where you can find materials for everything from Convergent Problems to Visualization. Materials will be made available at a range of levels from a 3-sentence description, a 3-slide summary, and a 3-hour module. The 3-hour module will contain about an hour of reading and reflection material, about an hour of lecture slide material, and an hour-long hands-on activity to try it out (1+1+1 = 3 hours).
Materials are actively being developed, and we are looking for community feedback (i.e., You! Your feedback!).
The webinar is part of the US National Science Foundation supported I-GUIDE project, which aims to transform geospatial data-intensive sciences through integration of AI and cyberGIS, reproducible data-intensive analytics and modeling, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles, and innovative education and workforce development programs.
